Limp Mode

DH went into limp mode this morning. Scared the shit out of me. Fortunately had a place to pull off the road. Managed to get it home. Anyone else experience this? Cause?

Accelerator went dead. Push it all the way to the floor and nothing. Pulled off road and it came alive. Drove maybe half mile and dead again. Did this several times in order to get home. Had it towed to dealership.

Thanks for the update and education, I had no clue limp modes can affect throttle operation, please post stuff you find out after the repair
 
Happened to me at the end of July. It corrected itself w/out a restart. It has not happened since.

The amazing thing about technology is that the service writer was able to read the codes from the car while it was in my driveway. Showed battery at 45%. It took the tech three days of troubleshooting before they determined the Body Control Module hiccupped for some reason and that was what caused the chaos. They reset the BCM and now everything is supposed to be hunky dory. Let's hope so.
