I entered the vehicle and tried to start it manually. It didn't even try to crank. Just the accessories came on with a bunch of warning messages.
The include the following messages:
1. Memory recall not permitted while driving
2. Lane-Keeping System Off
3. Service AdvanceTrac
4. Service Vehicle Soon
5. Full Accessory Power active
waited a hour and the car started, with a check engine light
drove to dealer check engine went out and showed no codes
this seems to have been a problem for all of the mustangs
just got off the phone with ford they do not seem willing to admit an issue or fix it
I wonder where I will be stranded next?
update: spent more time on phone with Ford, in a nutshell Ford will not pay dealer to work on problem unless a computer code and my ford pass has a code but the car erased the code so no help
I did find TSB 2024-08-06 which is a reprogram of the ABS module, and should fix the problem, my dealer would not do without code
so I called another dealer and was told the Dark Horse is a specialty vehicle and they would not work on it unless purchased from them
So no help from ford, no help from 2 dealers and now a concern if I'm on a road trip
dealers will just refuse to work on a dark horse
Talked to ford about this and they said dealers are independent and its their option if they want to work on cars
so be careful if you decide to buy a dark horse
